Eggs
These are a cheap form of protein, which are easy to prepare. You get 6 servings of 2 eggs each for about $4.00.
OMLETTE - Beat 2 eggs in a cup with a little milk, pour into a hot pan and cook gently till almost set, sprinkle on some grated cheese if you like, then flip in half. Cook through and then serve.
BOILED EGGS - Boil eggs for 4 mins, then serve with slices of toast and butter, known as Soldiers
POACHED EGGS - Slip eggs one at a time into deep water that is just off the boil, time for about 4.5mins, till set (may take a little longer). Do not boil roughly. Serve on buttered toast.
EGGY BREAD - Beat 2 eggs in a bowl with a little milk, dunk slices of bread into the eggs then fry them in a bit of butter in a pan. Lots of salt and pepper is good on these.
